This is something I truly believe everyone should do, regardless of gender or age. Taking the time to download something like Noonlight, a safety app that tracks your location and when needed shares it with authorities in real-time, could make all the difference. When using any service–dating apps, car services, or even just public transit–there are always going to be unknown variables. I hate to say it, but you really never know what will happen when you step outside your house. Instead of leaving it up to chance, or living in fear, equip yourself with a safety net that will let you enjoy your night with one less thing to worry about.
4) Listen to yourself
We’ve all heard the one night stand horror stories. “He literally didn’t leave until 2 pm,” “She kicked me out right after we had sex,” or the worst one, “I felt so creeped out but I didn’t wanna leave and be rude.” Understanding that whatever you’ve gotten yourself into for the night is not a contractual agreement can really help in awkward situations.
